Franciscus Diaba

Franciscus Diaba is currently Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at the National Basketball Association (the “NBA”). Mr. Diaba is the lead technology lawyer at the NBA.

Mr. Diaba graduated from the University of New Hampshire, Franklin Pierce School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. While pursuing the degree, he was a member of the Black Law Students Association, which he served as president. He also gave the student speech during Commencement. Mr. Diaba is also a graduate of the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School.

Prior to joining the NBA as a technology transactions attorney, Mr. Diaba was a technology transactions attorney at Johnson & Johnson.

Prior to working at Johnson & Johnson, Mr. Diaba served as a technology transactions and intellectual property attorney with leading international law firms. Prior to his legal career, he was an engineer with General Motors, where he drew upon skills he developed while earning a mechanical engineering degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
